]]> On our scuba dives, we see the most amazing coral reefs. They have such interesting colours, textures and shapes. It is a magical otherworldly place twenty meters below the ocean surface. In this design, we wanted to put a Lemon Litchi twist on the usual coral reef. For the final touch on the Floral Reef Undertow Canvas, we used flowers, succulents and tropical leaves to make a floral reef full of hidey-holes for our Betta fish to play in.

With this design however we went in the opposite direction. Here we wanted to showcase our artwork in their original and pure forms.     ]]>     In April 2017 we visited Cape Town’s Two Oceans aquarium. Being two enthusiastic scuba divers, we decided to dive in two of the aquarium’s exhibits. The dive we enjoyed the most was the cold water Kelp Forest exhibit.

    As we dove into the tank, a bustling in the underwater world welcomed us. The aquarium installed pumps and systems that create circulation and water movement within the tank. This gives a magical and enchanting feeling when you are submerged. It mimics the open ocean. The kelp danced and swayed while the sun shimmers on the lustrous scales of the fish hiding in the forest.

    The teeming exhibit with its dense kelp and multitude of fish inspired the mysterious and magical Sub-Aquatic Amazon Scatter Cushion.
